What is a 400 Hz frequency converter?

400 Hz is a type of frequency within AC electrical power, which is the standard for weapon systems, aerospace and aircraft industries across the world. Aircrafts can not use the 50Hz or 60Hz power coming from the utility supply when on the ground.

Airports, hangars and aircraft ships must have access to a Ground Power Unit ( GPU ) 400Hz frequency converter as this is not a standard power.

A 400hz frequency converter takes 50Hz or 60 Hz power directly from the utility and converts it to 400hz which is acceptable to aircraft and military power systems.
